Moonrise over the Chilean volcanoes

This dramatic view was captured the evening before the May 2022 total lunar eclipse from the Atacama Desert. We spent one month at this place at Alain Maury‘s, so it was actually my second such full moon from the Atacama. One on the day of arrival and the other on the last night – just before the mentioned beautiful phenomenon.
