I must admit that the sound of the sea, the pleasant temperatures, and the feeling of your bare feet sinking into the cool, fine sand are very impressive to me in combination with the dark night sky filled with thousands of stars. Several years have passed since my first visit to Crete, but I can still find beautiful scenery and enjoy incredible experiences here. I saw the breathtaking comet Neowise and the Perseid meteor shower under great conditions here. This year, a group of astrophotography enthusiasts and I found ourselves at our recent workshop under a naturally dark sky, where we took pictures in different conditions. One of the most beautiful moments for photographing the night sky is when day turns into night, the sky darkens, it is bluish, the dawn is still red and the Milky Way rises overhead. This was also the case in the circumstances under which this photograph was taken.
