Eclipse glimpse

27. April 2024

Please, enjoy this photo, which is a sequence of the American total solar eclipse from April the 8th 2024. Notice the amount of details you can see in the photo. The gradually obscuring Moon covers the bright solar disk. Its last thin crescent creates a phenomenon called a diamond ring, which can be seen at the edges of the image. The last rays of the sun, which later passed through the uneven surface of the moon dotted with many craters, are called Baily’s beads. It is actually one of the most beautiful moments during a total solar eclipse. At a total phase, the solar corona stands out in immense detail. It is difficult to capture photographically to the extent that the human eye can see it. But the real jewel stretching above the surface of the Sun is the pink prominences, which were breathtaking during the eclipse. Visible to the naked eye, but their real details stand out much better in binoculars. I hope you like the photo. For me, it is an extremely beautiful memory of the whole event.
