If You see an aurora above Your head, it’s a dynamic and bright blast in the sky. Something, that everybody should experience in a lifetime. For photographers, also distant aurora can be beautiful, especially when You can see its colors as layers. I was lucky to capture three layers of aurora colors. The lowest one is the thin pink color created by nitrogen molecules at an altitude of about 80km. Above, the green and red bands are caused by atomic oxygen up to 300+km in the atmosphere. Enjoy this unique view with a combination of the dramatic landscape of Lofoten.
